Coca-Cola Cup: Semis lineup complete

Sep 19, 2016- Durga Higher Secondary School of Rautahat advanced to girls’ category  semi-finals of the Coca-Cola Cup National Inter-school football tournament  on Sunday.

Durga beat Ideal HS School of Kathmandu  3-1 to join Bal Kalyan HS School of Morang and Nepal Rastriya  HS School of Kathmandu in the last four. Despite the defeat Ideal also made  it through. Bal Kalyan will take on Nepal Rastriya HS  School and Durga will meet Ideal in the semi-finals.

Rashmi Kumari Ghising gave Durga School the 12th minute lead and Ashmita  Baidhya doubled their tally five minutes later. Menuka Ale Magar made sure  of the their victory with the third goal in the 53rd minute. Preeti Rai  pulled back one for Ideal.

In the boys’ semi-finals, Chula Chuli School of Jhapa saw off Bhanubhakta Memorial of Morang  4-3 in tiebreaker after a 1-1 stalemate. Bibek Thapa struck an equaliser in the 35th minute for Bhanubhakta after Anup Rai conceded an own goal to put Chula Chuli ahead early in the sixth minute.
